E-Cadets

On Tuesday 6 February we celebrated Safer Internet Day. Our expert eCadets - Stanley, Dillon, Oscar and Will - spoke to the school about the technological changes we have observed over time.  They then led workshops in each class, educating Snowy Owl and Barn Owl Class children about positive and negative changes they might see when using a parent's phone, tablet or computer. Hawk Owl Class children discussed positive and negative influences they might encounter online, such as an unknown person joining a group chat or a social media influencer encouraging them to try an inappropriate and unsafe challenge.  The children in Eagle Owl Class undertook activities to understand that technology’s design can influence their choices and, importantly, how they can manage that influence.

The eCadets are currently busy producing a Christmas technology guide for parent carers.  Our e-Cadets know that digital devices will be top of many children's Christmas lists once again this year and want to ensure that all children and their families know how to keep safe online.

Our e cadets worked hard last year to educate our children and parents on how we can stay safe on-line. For Internet Safety Day the e-cadets went into each class and did a presentation to the children full of tips and activities that the children could do.

The information below was e mailed out to parents.
